(MedPage Today) -- Case Findings: A 56-year-old man with a history of prior cardiac surgery went to urgent care complaining of a fever, chills, and fatigue. He was accompanied by his wife who told the doctor that she thought he appeared increasingly ill over the past few weeks and pointed out the petechiae on his fingers, palms, soles, and toes.
